About Me

Hi! My name is Evelyn Izquierdo. I’ve been an English teacher for almost 25 years now. I hold a Master’s degree in EFL and work as an ESP/EAP teacher at the School of Education of Universidad Central de Venezuela since 1998. I’m currently the Head of the Foreign Language Faculty and a member of the Academic Committe of EFL Master’s Program, where I also offer the ICT in ELT course. I’ve been involved in online activities since I took my first Becoming a Webhead EVO session in 2005, and joined the Webheads in Action. After that, I became an ICT practitioner, a teacher trainer and an active member of several online communities. I’m also a co-founder of Avealmec (Venezuela CALL Association), NGO through which I have had the great opportunity to train teachers at a national and international level. In 2008, I won a full scholarship to attend the WorldCALL 2008 and represented Venezuela in Japan. I’m currently a member of the Distance Education Committee of the School of Education – UCV, VenTESOL’s Editor and Avealmec ‘s President.
