About Me
I'm a Dance Educator with professional experience as a choreographer, soloist, and a former teaching artist for Young Audiences of Atlanta. I have 26 years of experience teaching creative movement to ages 3-6, and pre-ballet, ballet, pointe and modern/jazz technique to ages 5-18. I was among the first dance educators in the USA to create a whole child method of teaching dance by applying and field testing the theories of Jean Piaget and Howard Gardner in all of my classes-starting in 1985. I attended Harvard's Project Zero in July 2010 and with the encouragement I received there, I am continuing to develop my interdisciplinary skills, as well as my ability to collaborate with students and colleagues.
Currently, I'm teaching ballet and modern'jazz to boys and girls in Grades 1-3 at the 2nd largest private, coed, college prep day school in the continental United States. I'm looking forward to attending the Project Zero institute in Atlanta in November: http://casie.org/pz
