Ying Tri Region Science and Engineering Fair
About Me
Director of the Ying TRSEF and a freelance consultant, my work centers around expanding precollegiate science and engineering opportunities for youth. Using our science fair as the "least common denominator" to provide access, we encourage outreach and networking across disciplines and organizations to multiply the windows of opportunity in our territory (half of Upstate NY). I bring a background in special education, gifted education, and grassroots community organizing to this work. The driver, though, is having watched our younger son's life transformed by his science fair experience - mentors, hands-on engineering, and self-directed learning. All children should have the chance he had to discover his passions and realize his dreams.
