About Me
Born in London in 1970, I studied online journalism at the University of Plymouth before moving into website design. In 2005 I undertook the Trinity Cert. TESOL in Seville, Spain, and began my teaching career. I have since lived and worked in China, Turkey, Vietnam, Tunisia, and have been based in Bangkok, Thailand since 2011. Given my background in multimedia design, interest naturally grew regarding the use of technology in education. This direction began by taking the British Council’s course on ‘Learning Technologies for the EFL Classroom’. I then undertook training for Promethean interactive whiteboards (IWB) and some courses with The Consultants-E on VLE (Moodle) design and eModeration / online tutoring. Then, in 2012 I began studying for an MA in Educational Technology & TESOL as a distance student of the University of Manchester. I have passed the Trinity Cert. IBET, am currently pursuing my DELTA and, as a confessed ‘MOOCaholic’ and lifelong learner, I regularly pursue other training. Details of my explorations can be found at www.DigiTEFL.com
