About Me
Roderick W. Woodruff, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the national recognized Urban Video Game Academy (UVGA), an innovative 7-year old S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math) afterschool learning initiative for grades 4-12. Roderick’s current mission revolves around the continued growth and expansion of UVGA afterschool educational programs and curriculums dedicated to preparing students for STEAM careers pathways in underserved areas for postsecondary education and technology careers. The program engages students in the fundamentals processes of video game design, automotive engineering, and multi-media arts through project based learning experiences that educate and enhance their ability to learn, and apply STEAM concepts.
With over 30 years of proven business experience as a former advertising and marketing executive and IT professional with an extensive knowledge in information systems management and training – Roderick remains driven by his dual passions -- multimedia communications, information technology and education.
