I am a new media author, currently writing an interactive multimedia web-based biography/memoir about an American woman composer (and me). My first new media novel, Light 1.0, was published as a podcast beginning in 2005. I also have a new media book review site, riffingonbooks.com, where I blog about books and ideas that interest me, often using new media rather that text as my communication tool. I am academic director of a new web and interactive media department at a local private art college. There are close to 90 (AS and BS) students in my department now. I particularly enjoy designing new courses to keep pace with this rapidly ever-changing major that has not even been offered in many schools. My background is 20 years as a new media developer/designer, a BS in film, and MFA in creative nonfiction (dedicated entirely to new media writing). I am also a musician / composer and digital fine artist (hence my interest in multimedia!).
