About Me
I've been in educator over forty years, have been a special education teacher, a graduate professor of human development, an educational consultant, and now a full-time author and speaker. I've written 16 books on learning and human development including my latest: The Power of the Adolescent Brain: Strategies for Teaching Middle and High School Teachers (ASCD). I also will be having an update of a book I wrote on ADHD coming out next year: The Myth of the ADHD Child: 101 Ways to Improve Your Child's Behavior and Attention Span without Drugs, Labels, or Coercion. My education heroes are: Piaget, Gardner, Montessori, Steiner, Holt, Ravitch, Rogers, Maslow, and Dewey. I also have a dog named Dewey, but I didn't name him after John Dewey (I don't think!).
