    About Me

I am a seasoned teacher with over 28 years of teaching experience. I hold a BA in History/Secondary Education, Master's in Middle School, and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Early in my career, I heard Ron Walker give a talk and I still have the handouts and a folder with his name on it. I remember that he said, "Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do". Also, he had one rule and that was: "Do not do anything that interferes with your learning, the learning of others, and the teacher's ability to teach. His 2 hour conference had a lasting impact upon me. I now teach in an Early Intervention Program, and I am seeking was to motivate my students who often come to me with discipline problems because of their lack of success and for various other reasons. I try to be a leader within my school by motivating not only my students, but also my fellow teachers by giving them reasons for doing the right thing. I want to truly be a lifelong learner. I want to do the right things. I have a "calling" as an education. For me, teaching is both a science and an art. I try to do my personal best, but sometimes I need to do what is required... and sometimes I am not sure what that requirement entails.
